Abstract

This article is dedicated to the analysis of existing and development of new methods of geological study, exploration and geological and industrial evaluation of nickel and vanadium deposits in the Republic of Burundi. It takes into account the specifics of the geological structure and mineralogical composition of deposits in Burundi, as well as the features of their development. Ferrous elements (Ni, V) are important metals in various industries including metallurgy, steel and batteries. Understanding their petrographic and geochemical characteristics is important for exploration, mining and processing of these metals.

Ferrous metal (Ni, V) mining can have negative impacts on the environment, including groundwater contamination, soil degradation, habitat loss and greenhouse gas emissions. It is therefore important to use responsible and sustainable mining practices to minimise these impacts.

Study of ferrous metal elemental ore in the exploration and geological and industrial evaluation of useful vanadium deposits during their development in the Republic of Burundi. Analysis of selected rock samples on press (laboratory hydraulic plg-12), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and reflected light. Processing of the distribution of chemical elements based on the obtained data of micro-X-ray fluorescence analysis.

Understanding the petrographic and geochemical characteristics of nickel and vanadium is important for the exploration, mining and processing of these important metals. Nickel and vanadium deposits occur in a variety of rock formations and geological settings, and their properties vary considerably. It is important to take into account the potential environmental impacts of mining these metals and to promote sustainable exploitation practices.
